Perhaps, in the case of Donald Trump, this is the way to prosecute. But, I'd like to see some sort of legislative re-enforcement that helps prevent this type of scenario from taking root again.

Is there anyone familiar with what mechanisms might be a positive means, legislatively?

What is Mastodon?

The social network of the future: No ads, no corporate surveillance, ethical design, and decentralization!

Man! Just chopping down trees in can get you killed. It's worth it for the Domino effect though!

I put identical polls out yesterday here and on my Twitter account:
- Mastodon 200 followers: 56 votes
- Twitter 2,000 followers: 2 votes

This is consistent with my general impression about these two platforms:

Twitter is mostly web 1.0 consumption, Mastodon is web 2.0 social.

Hi everyone! Is there a way to find some graphic artists that take commissions for Mastodon logos and server banners?

I'm looking to have one made and would like to have someone from the community do it rather than someone that's not connected to Mastodon.

Please DM me here if you or someone you know is interested.

Thank you!

Alright. I've secured the domain name! My kids suggested it as a nod to the emoji movie, which they loved and I "meh"-d.

What do you guys think?

Now I need it figure out how I'm going to make a mascot incorporating a cute cartoon sloth and a recognizable chat/opolis! Then finally, change the instance over to it.

I love doing this for them!

What CBS seems to think we want from Star Trek: Constant high-stakes gritty action-adventure

What I want from Star Trek, at least: Slice of life from a version of the future in which humanity has actually figured its shit out

@yuki This might be the one feature I miss from Google+

I don't know enough about Mastodon's architecture (or the fediverse, for that matter) to know if it's really feasible

I'm working on a forum right now for my purposes and it's going to have circles by default

As for it not being a forum, true that anyone can walk up to you and say anything, but there's still etiquette in the commons. And people are still responsible for what they say

Heads up #Fediverse

@k9mail is looking for funding to maintain their popular #android mail app. #k9mail hopes to raise €1,000 p/w on #liberapay to be able to work fulltime on the project.

Would it be OK for me to use the pronoun "it"? I don't want to offend anyone but that would be hilarious to me. Reminds me of Cousin It!

Also, if someone has a suggestion for an instance to federated with that has a broader range of discussion than just what I'm into on - I'd like to provide that for my family since I'm the only nerd in the group.

I don't mind if it has to be slightly moderated for teenagers to consume the content. But I also don't want anything themed around organized religion, alt-left, alt-right, you know, the extremes that leads people away from thinking for themselves.

So my kids have brought to my attention that doesn't make sense to anyone but myself. So I started asking them what they'd name the instance.

This is all in the interest of attracting more family friendly members that would like to build a social media experience that their kids can learn from.

Two suggestions were
- some iteration of talkopolis
- and

What do you guys think?

Folks, I don't completely understand the pronoun syntax.

Why this sort of differentiation?
"they (best), she (ok)"

This is going to sound kooky to some of you.

Serious question: how many of you think we live in a simulation? Feel free to DM me with replies
I'd like to know why you think that.

Do certain CSS hex codes not get displayed properly? I still can't understand why my headings and body text is white.

According to this:

It should be lavender, right?

Does the main body text on this page look Lavender to you?

It's supposed to be this color and I think CSS is being wonky with Jekyll? I just don't know.
